MAD is the USU charity partnership and fundraising program aimed at developing a culture of giving for students and staff at the University of Sydney through engaging a purpose driven generation.
MAD-a-thon is the USU’s 24-hour fundraising marathon!
The MAD program is all about being MAD for the little things that add up to something Big. It’s about championing a group of people to achieve real results by coming together to Make A Difference for those in need.
As an endorsed program of Australia's oldest and largest not-for-profit student organisation, we are uniquely placed to leverage the motivation and energy of over 50,000 students and staff who want to Make A Difference in the world.
Through MAD we have an initial fundraising target of $30,000 annually to support two amazing charities.
The two official charity partners for MAD are:
The Gender Centre INC
The Gender Centre is committed to developing and providing services and activities, which enhance and the ability of people with gender issues to make informed choices.
MAD support will go towards running a 3 day Transtopia Youth Camp for Transgender and Gender Diverse young people in Australia – mostly for remote and rural areas.
Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF)
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) works to provide equity of opportunity for remote Indigenous Australians to be able to realise their full potential.
MAD will provide 4,500 book to help close the gap on Indigenous literacy over 3 years
